Effective April 21, Randy Randall took over as executive director of the Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau in Santa Fe, N.M., the Santa Fe CVB reported yesterday.
A veteran in Santa Fe’s hospitality industry, Randall has been retired since 2004. Prior to retirement, he spent 10 years as general manager of Santa Fe’s Eldorado Hotel. In 1997, he was appointed to the New Mexico Tourism Commission, an appointment he held until the end of 2013.
In his new role, Randall will oversee destination sales and marketing for Santa Fe, as well as operation of the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.
“This is a great opportunity and I’m honored to be able to take the knowledge I’ve gained over the years in tourism and use it for the benefit of this community,” Randall said in a statement.
Added Santa Fe City Manager Brian Snyder, “Randall has deep roots in the business over a 45-year career. He has the confidence of the community, and I know he’ll plug right in with our partners in the industry.”
