Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority Names Interim Leader

Following the termination of President and CEO Chris Baum, its board of directors has named Jennifer Cunningham as interim managing director, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) of Reno, Nev., announced last week.

"I'm honored by the board's confidence in my capacity to lead the RSCVA through its most current evolution. I look forward to working with our partners to help promote and improve the perception of Reno Tahoe, and to ensure our tourism endeavors are persuasive and impactful," said Cunningham, who currently serves as RSCVA's executive director of marketing, but previously worked for the organization as director of tourism sales from 1987 until 1996.

In her role as managing director, Cunningham will oversee RSCVA's day-to-day operations alongside RSCVA Board Chair Bob Lucey, who is currently working with the organization to develop a new, five-year strategic plan.

"Ms. Cunningham has worked for the RSCVA for nearly 17 years, and has an additional 13 years of Reno Tahoe-related tourism experience," Lucey said. "The board is confident in her ability to help lead this organization as we work to find a permanent chief executive, and we're grateful for her continued dedication as we move forward."

Although a timeline has not been announced, RSCVA's board said a search firm will assist it in its search for a new leader going forward.
