Dubai's once-ailing business district, Business Bay, is full of life again thanks to a new wave of hotel development, the latest product of which is the brand-new Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront, which opened its doors today, according to Radisson Hotel Group.
"We are very proud and excited to open our fifth Radisson Blu hotel in Dubai, one of the world's most attractive travel destinations and key regional commerce hub," said Tim Cordon, area senior vice president for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Radisson Hotel Group. "The tourism sector in Dubai continues to grow and flourish as a result of the Emirate's remarkable vision in creating a world-class destination for entertainment and culture. The superb tourism attractions are underpinned by the growth of Dubai International Airport, the world's busiest airport in terms of international traffic, and the continued investment in the city's infrastructure. We are delighted to open another flagship Radisson Blu hotel in such a prominent location in Dubai and contribute to this growth."
Boasting views of Burj Khalifa and the newly opened Dubai Water Canal, Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront has 432 guest rooms -- many of which have private balconies -- as well as six restaurants and bars: Fire Lake Grill House & Cocktail Bar, a fine-dining restaurant specializing in Midwestern cuisine inspired by Radisson's Minnesota roots; Larder, a Nordic-inspired restaurant; Republic & Co., which serves Middle Eastern cuisine; Abraj, which offers light snacks like sandwiches and coffee; Makar, a Scottish whisky and cigar bar; and Gotha Club Dubai, a 16,000-square-foot nightclub modeled after the original Gotha nightclub in Cannes, France.
Other amenities include a spa, gym, outdoor pool, and over 12,000 square feet of meeting space for groups of up to 350 people.
Concluded General Manager David Allan: "We are thrilled to be launching this hotel in an outstanding location in Dubai, with a unique offering and such a talented team. We have spent a considerable amount of time carefully recruiting the team for the hotel and are confident we have found the right, upbeat yet professional personalities that will deliver the Radisson Blu brand's renowned 'Yes I Can!' level of service. I truly believe that we have the friendliest hotel team in Dubai and we look forward to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests from around the world."
