Planners Still Heading to Hurricane Zone, but Mindful of Contracts

According to the latest poll results, planners are not averse to holding meetings on the southeastern or gulf coasts during the 2006 hurricane season, but will be mindful of cancellation policies following last year's devastation.

Of the 112 respondents, 55% (62 planners) said that they would plan a meeting in those regions, but negotiate the contract’s terms of cancellation. Only 39% (44 planners) said they will not consider holding a meeting in those regions during hurricane season, and a mere 5% (6 planners) said they have no choice but to hold a meeting on the southeastern or gulf coasts over those months.
