Planner Poll Finds Most Second-half '07 Meetings Have Altered Budgets

In the latest poll conducted on the home page of, 70 planners weighed in on the question, "For meetings through the end of 2007, how have your bosses changed meeting budgets in response to your organization's financial performance?"

The mix of results mirrored the uncertainty of the economic outlook as seen in the stock market in recent weeks: Forty-four percent of respondents said that management has reduced the budget for one or more meetings for the second half of 2007. Another 34 percent said that management has made no change to meeting budgets. Finally, and perhaps a bit surprisingly, 20 percent of planners said that management has raised the budget for one or more meetings between now and the end of 2007.
