Phoenix Sky Harbor International is the best airport in the country, if you ask the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which recently named Sky Harbor its airport of the year for showing more than 42 million annual passengers "exceptional courtesy and attentiveness" while also maintaining a high level of security.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, which reported on the distinction yesterday, the award demonstrates marked improvement for the airport, which came under fire last year for receiving a high number of TSA complaints from disabled passengers.
"We are honored to receive this award on behalf of those employees who, each and every day, work hard to ensure security and provide exceptional customer service," Sky Harbor Acting Aviation Director Tamie Fisher said in a statement. "We are proud of the efforts our TSA team has made to helping us achieve our goal of providing a world-class airport experience to every customer every day."
