Philly Marriott Completes Meeting Space Renovation

The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, which is connected by skywalk to the newly expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center, has completed a $17 million renovation of its meeting space, it announced last week.

The hotel, which has 1,408 guest rooms and 92,000 square feet of meeting space — including 72 meeting rooms and a 34,300-square-foot grand ballroom for up to 4,500 people — added state-of-the-art lighting and audio systems, an electronic reader board system, new carpeting and wall vinyl, and new air walls with state-of-the-art sound proofing. In addition, it said, it gave meeting rooms a "bright new look" and updated the aforementioned skywalk with a "modern redesign."

According to the hotel, a good portion of its meeting space occupies part of the Headhouse, which once was home to the Reading Railroad Company. For more information, visit www.philadelphiamarriott.com.
