Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA, can see the light at the end of the tunnel on its $285 million expansion. Launched in December 2015, the expansion officially reached its midpoint on April 19, when elected officials, dignitaries, and Pechanga tribal members gathered for a special topping-out ceremony, marking a key milestone in the construction of a new hotel tower that will double the size of the resort -- which already is the largest resort and casino in California.
"Today, we celebrate the topping out of this new tower, which will give us 568 brand new AAA Four-Diamond rooms," said Edith Atwood, president of the Pechanga Development Corp. "Countless people, as well as more than 2,500 construction trades workers, have labored tirelessly to keep construction on schedule."
Wholly owned and operated by the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, Pechanga Resort & Casino opened in 2002. When the current expansion is complete in December 2017, the property will have a total of 1,090 guest rooms; 13 restaurants; 13 pools and spas, including a new 4.5-acre pool complex; a luxury spa; a fitness center; a championship 18-hole golf course; a concert theater; a 200,000-square-foot casino floor; and 274,500 square feet of meeting and event space, including 100,000 square feet of indoor event space and 174,500 square feet of outdoor event space.
