Parisian conference center company Viparis has announced plans to build what it claims will be the largest conference center in Europe: The Paris Convention Centre.
Located at the Paris expo Porte de Versailles, which is the fourth most visited site in Paris after Notre Dame Cathedral, Sacré Coeur, and the Louvre, the new venue will total approximately 236,000 square feet, including a main conference room for up to 5,200 people and, immediately adjacent to that, 144,000 square feet of exhibition space.
"This future structure will help keep Paris in first place," Viparis Chairman Jean-Yves Durance said in a statement. "[Its] ability to provide bespoke solutions for each project and its outstanding architecture, just 15 minutes away from the Eiffel Tower, will make the Paris Convention Centre Europe's most stunning backdrop for conferences."
The Paris Convention Centre is part of a larger, 10-year program to modernize the Paris expo Porte de Versailles. It is scheduled for completion in 2017.
