Openings - Germany - 2006-05-04

Darmstadt - The Darmstadtium Science and Congress Center will be opening in December 2007. This modern center will be a large congress hall, with a total space of 13,000-sf and an accomodation capacity of up to 2,000. Smaller meeting rooms will be available as well for groups of up to 200 people. The 19,380-sf foyer can be used for exhibitions. A 208-room hotel will allow direct access to the convention center and featured is the 3-D Cybernarium event park.

Bonn- Construction has begun to expand the International Congress Centre Bundeshaus Bonn (IKBB) The 38,000-sf multi-purpose center, which can be used for meetings and conventions, will now be able to accomodate an additional 5,000 people.

Bremen - The first design hotel in Bremen, the ÜberFluss Hotel, has opened. This four-star hotel integrates medieval walls and style into the new building. Overlooking the Weser river, the facility has 51 rooms and conference areas.

Frankfurt - Opening in June 2006 is the Mövenpick Conference Hotel at the Europe Quarter at Frankfurt Fair. The four-star business and meeting hotel will have 288 rooms, a restaurant, and a bar, as well as 7,300-sf of conference and banquet space. A gym and 130-space parking garage are also part of the project.

Hamburg - The Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) is currently under renovation. Presently, consisting of a multi-purpose exhibition hall and adjacent conference space, the center will expand its exhibition space to 129,200-sf. There will be seating capacity for 16,000 upon its completion in June 2006.

- The Grand Elysee Hamburg Hotel will open this Spring 2006 with 520 rooms, a banquet and meeting hall for over 1,000, and 24 meeting rooms. The facility will have the largest event capacity in the Hamburg hotel market.

Cologne Fair - Cologne Fair’s new Congress Centrum Nord has a 7,800-sqare foot meeting hall with over 750-style seats. The second floor can be divided into six segments, offering space for up to 120 people. Also on the second floor there are twelve conference rooms that can accommodate 9,600 guests.
