Orlando- Plans for the new Palazzo del Lago, an $800 million destination resort, were announced in March 2006. The property will include the InterContinental Resort & Residences Orlando, with its 1,260 luxury hotel and hotel condominum units. It will also include The Villas at Palazzo del Lago, a 994-unit residential condominium development, with pools and a fitness center. Phase I is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2006, which will see the construction of the first residential resort tower. Openings for the entire property is scheduled for early 2009.
- The Lexington Hotel unveiled its pro-types for ultra-contemporary suites in March 2006. The 14-story, 227-room property now has three room types: The Park Avenue, The Windermere, and The Grammercy. The hotel also plans to provide four-star amenities and service, featuring a signature restaurant, piano bar, cyber cafe, and 24-hour room service. A seven-story spa, pool, and fitness center is scheduled to open in March 2007. Pre-opening booking is available.
