Nobu Hotel Miami Beach Announces Fall Opening

Nobu Miami Beach Hotel - Robert De Niro - Chef Nobu Matsuhisa

A celebrity chef-inspired hotel is coming to Miami Beach, courtesy of Nobu Hospitality, the company behind Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's trendy chain of Japanese restaurants.

Owned in partnership with actor Robert De Niro, movie producer Meir Teper, and Australian businessman James Packer, the company already owns hotels in Las Vegas and the Philippines, and has other properties under development in London, Chicago, Malibu, Bahrain, Los Cabos, and Saudi Arabia.

Scheduled to open in mid-September inside Eden Roc Miami Beach's landmark Morris Lapidus tower, Nobu Hotel Miami Beach will be a "hotel within a hotel" offering 206 guest rooms, including 35 luxury suites and three penthouse suites, as well as two restaurants: Matsuhisa's Nobu Miami and Helene Henderson's Malibu Farm, which will specialize in "fresh, organic, local" cuisine. The property's feel, according to Nobu, will be that of a "contemporary Japanese beach house."

Other onsite amenities will include 20,000 square feet of spa and fitness facilities, over 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and two pools.

"Since opening my restaurant in Miami Beach 16 years ago, I have felt a connection to this city and the people," Matsuhisa said. "Now with the Nobu Hotel, I feel like I have a new home."
