Effective this fall, the Holiday Inn New York City Midtown–31st Street will be the Hyatt Herald Square, hotel owner Chesapeake Lodging Trust announced this month.
The property, which has 122 guest rooms and no meeting space, will undergo a $6 million renovation in August and September. Plans include a complete remodel of all guest rooms and a re-imagined first floor that Chesapeake Lodging Trust describes as an “intimate upscale lobby and food and beverage experience.”
“We are very pleased to expand our relationship with Hyatt, by way of up-branding the hotel to the upper-upscale market position in the vibrant midtown area of Manhattan,” Chesapeake Lodging Trust President and CEO James L. Francis said in a statement. “Hyatt Herald Square will mark our sixth Hyatt property in our growing portfolio of high-quality assets throughout the key markets of North America.”
