New Hotel Triplex Opens in Chicago

Three new LEED-certified hotels — Aloft Chicago City Center, Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown/River North and Hyatt Place Chicago/River North — have opened as part of a single development in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, developers Friedman Properties and White Lodging announced last month.

“White Lodging is proud to partner with such well respected brands,” said Bryan Hayes, COO of select service with White Lodging, which will manage the properties. “I think both locals and visitors will appreciate what we’re bringing to the River North neighborhood.”

Collectively, the hotel “triplex” — a unique collaboration between three different hoteliers: Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Marriott International and Hyatt Hotels Corp. — offers 664 guest rooms, including 272 at the Aloft, 180 at the Fairfield Inn & Suites and 212 at the Hyatt Place, and more than 7,700 square feet of meeting space, including more than 2,000 square feet at the Aloft, approximately 2,558 square feet at the Fairfield Inn & Suites and approximately 3,190 square feet at the Hyatt Place.

All three hotels offer onsite fitness centers and convenience stores and will have access to an onsite restaurant — Beatrix — from Chicago-based restaurant empire Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.
