A new hotel/convention facility are coming to Arlington, TX, the city announced yesterday.
Part of Arlington's Entertainment District, the new venue will be a public-private partnership between the city and the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball (MLB) team. It will have a minimum of 300 guest rooms and 35,000 square feet of meeting and conference space.
Additionally, the $200 million development near Arlington's Globe Life Park will include a 100,000-square-foot entertainment complex with multiple restaurants, retail space, and entertainment venues, as well as a signature event space.
"This gives our city the ability to host larger events and more visitors," said Ronnie Price, president and CEO of the Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau. "This development enhances our destination by providing the type of entertainment and facilities that attendees look for."
Work on both the hotel/convention facility and the entertainment complex is expected to commence by the end of 2016.
Concluded Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams, "This project is another significant investment in an Arlington economy that already has tremendous momentum."
