New Doubletree Opens in Suburban Maryland

A new Doubletree hotel has opened in Columbia, Md., with 152 guest rooms and 11,000 square feet of meeting space, Hilton Worldwide announced last week.

Centrally located between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., the new hotel — the Doubletree Hotel Columbia — is located a mile from the Merriweather Post Pavilion, 20 minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor and 15 minutes from Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI).

"The Doubletree Hotel Columbia is a strong addition to our growing portfolio of upscale hotels in desirable urban/suburban locations in the world's top markets," said Doubletree Hotels Global Head Rob Palleschi. "The property's proximity to the region's three airports and two major cities, with all their attractions, in addition to agencies and government institutions such as APL/Johns Hopkins, Lockheed Martin and Fort Meade, make the Doubletree Hotel Columbia an obvious choice for business guests."

Formerly the Hilton Columbia, the new Doubletree is currently undergoing a major, multi-phase renovation encompassing its guest rooms, meeting space and public areas. For more information, visit columbia.doubletree.com.
