NYLO Hotels Opens First Northeast Location in Warwick, R.I.

NYLO Hotels has officially opened its latest property, NYLO Providence/Warwick in Warwick, R.I., it announced this week. The loft-style hotel is the second location, and the first in the Northeast, for the up-and-coming NYLO hotel brand, which plans to have 50 properties either open or under contract by early 2011.

"NYLO Warwick is a fun hotel that is truly unique to the industry," Christine Nevers, general manager of NYLO Providence/Warwick, said in a statement last month. "I am thrilled to bring the NYLO experience to the Northeast."

Located near Providence's T.F. Green Airport, within Warwick's historic Pontiac Mills complex—an 18-building textile mill that was built in 1810—NYLO Providence/Warwick boasts 163 guestrooms, called "guest lofts," each of which has 300 square feet of living space with 10-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls and floor-to-ceiling windows.

For meeting planners, NYLO Providence/Warwick offers 4,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the 900-square-foot Pontiac Room, the 300-square-foot Pawtuxet Room, the 250-square-foot Warwick Rom and a 3,000-square-foot outdoor terrace beside the Pawtuxet River.

The hotel—which began accepting reservations last month and is offering through December an introductory rate of $119 per night on weeknights and $89 per night on weekends—features a contemporary lobby, a game room, a high-tech gym, an onsite restaurant and hypo-allergenic accommodations. What's more, it offers free WiFi and runs entirely on renewable energy—all part of NYLO's "loft lifestyle" brand.

"Travel should be fun," NYLO CEO John Russell said in a statement this week. "Business travelers today meet with clients in the office parks of fast-growing suburban and secondary markets. They want to enjoy their tech-enhanced, urban lifestyles on the road. Consumers are looking for high style that's highly affordable. These preferences are strong in other sectors. What Starbucks, JetBlue and Mini Cooper have accomplished in their industries, NYLO is doing for business and leisure travel."

Atlanta-based NYLO hotels, which opened its inaugural property last year in Plano, Texas, currently has other, similar properties under development in Kansas City, Mo.; Irving, Texas; Boulder, Colo.; and Raleigh/Durham, N.C.
