Mohegan Sun recently unveiled new updates to the property, including a refreshed Mexican restaurant and a soon-to-be-complete Expo Center. The casino resort, set on 185 acres along the Thames River in Uncasville, CT, will open the doors to its new $80 million Expo Center on June 1. The new space will offer 150,000 square feet in close proximity to Mohegan Sun's newest hotel, the 380-room Earth Tower, bringing the resort's offerings to more than 275,000 square feet of meeting space.

"This new conference center will enable us to host some of the largest trade shows in the nation and take back some of the lost conventions that seek bigger venues in Boston and New York," said Mohegan Tribal Chairman Kevin Brown.

The new complex includes a 125,000-square-foot exposition center; a 20,000-square-foot ballroom, divisible into two; 15 meeting rooms in total, ranging from 360 square feet to 2,600 square feet; a 1,263 square-foot boardroom with 230 square feet of pre-function space and its own outdoor terrace; 3,600 square feet of outdoor space, which includes a large wrap-around terrace; and a 5,361-square-foot kitchen. The center is column free with windows bringing in natural light.

In addition to the Expo Center, the property has wrapped up changes to SolToro by Cornerstone Restaurant Group (pictured), including an expanded bar and lounge area, updated dining room, and event spaces that can accommodate groups of up to 130 for private dining, along with additions to the menu.

SolToro is now light and airy with upbeat features like the "No Bull Zone," a social hub with both lounge and high-top seating, decorative pendant lights, and an art wall depicting a series of bulls -- the prime spot for a SolToro selfie.

"Our goal is to be an escape that brightens our guests' day with delicious Mexican food, killer margaritas, warm hospitality, and a vibrant ambiance," said Jacob Andros, director of operations at Michael Jordan Restaurants in Mohegan Sun.

"While staying true to what our guests have loved about SolToro for the past 10 years, we are evolving the experience into a more modern and lighthearted Mexican cantina."

In addition to these offerings, the property includes three casinos, 1,600 hotel rooms, two world-class spas, a golf course, over 90 shops, restaurants, and bars as well as three entertainment venues including a 10,000-seat arena.
