According to the bi-annual Northmarq Compass report, Minnesota's hotel sector posted impressive gains in the first half of 2011. Both ADR and RevPAR Both are up in 2011 compared to earlier figures: Twin Cities hotels posted a 2.6 percent increase and a 10 percent increase in RevPAR.
The report predicted that 2012 will be another banner year, especially considering the renovations and new builds on the calendar statewide.
According to the
Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Carlson has indicated that it plans to upgrade its flagship Radisson Plaza Hotel into a Radisson Blu, and the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall will undergo a $25 million renovation beginning in March.
