Former Chicago Bulls shooting guard and NBA superstar Michael Jordan is returning to the Windy City this summer, when he'll open a new Michael Jordan's Steak House inside the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile hotel on Michigan Avenue, Jordan's partner, Cornerstone Restaurant Group, announced last month.
"I'm excited about bringing a Michael Jordan's Steak House to Chicago, especially to the world famous Magnificent Mile," Jordan said. "I'm already looking forward to dining here."
The restaurant will occupy the hotel's second floor dining room and first floor lobby bar space. Opening late summer, it will total 6,300 square feet with seating for 160 in the dining room, 91 in the bar and 18 each in two private dining spaces that will be available for meetings and events.
"Together with our renowned partners, Strategic Hotels & Resorts and InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, we look forward to starting a new chapter for our brand in this extraordinary city," said Cornerstone Restaurant Group CEO David Zadikoff.
His Chicago restaurant will be Jordan's third steakhouse, along with others at Grand Central Terminal in New York City and the Mohegan Sun Casino Resort in Uncasville, Conn., both of which also are overseen by Cornerstone.
