Melia Hotels International Announces New York Debut

Meliá Hotels International will open its first New York hotel — INNSIDE Manhattan — in 2016, it announced last week.

Located in Midtown Manhattan, in New York’s Flower District, the hotel will be located in a new, 20-story building between on West 27th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. It will have 313 guest rooms, a three-meal restaurant, a bar and meeting rooms.

“We have identified specific large North American cities, whose Latin influence and cosmopolitan atmosphere provide brands like Meliá, ME by Meliá and INNSIDE by Meliá an extraordinary opportunity for development,” Meliá Vice Chairman and CEO Gabriel Escarrer said in a statement. “It has long been a goal for us to establish a presence in New York City, and Manhattan specifically, with INNSIDE by Meliá, already a tremendously successful brand in Europe for both business travel and for urban escapes.”
