Louisville Tourism Site Generates $36M in Spending

The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau's Web site, GoToLouisville.com, generated more than $36 million in tourism spending in 2009, the CVB announced last week.

According to a study conducted by San Francisco-based Destination Analysts Inc., the Web site helped prompt 48,738 trips by travelers who were not already considering a visit to Louisville, and helped persuade travelers who already had planned a trip to spend 49,891 additional days there.

To help its Web site inspire even more trips and more spending in 2010, the Louisville CVB recently redesigned it. New features include a "trip builder" function that helps visitors plan their stay, as well as links to social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.
