Kimpton Prepares December Opening for New Miami Meetings Hotel

San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced a December 2008 opening for its newest property, EPIC, in downtown Miami. The boutique waterfront hotel will feature 411 rooms and suites, and over 11,000 square feet of indoor meeting space.

"EPIC is designed to serve as a compelling escape for business travelers and groups, combining the comfort and confidence of a Kimpton with a sophistication that can only be defined as Miami-inspired," Eric Jellson, EPIC's area director of sales and marketing, said in a statement. "Our goal is to provide planners and their delegates with endless possibilities to achieve their meeting goals, while embracing each group and their individual needs so that we may positively impact their stay, their meeting experience and each participant on a personal level."

EPIC's meeting facilities are located on the 14th floor of the hotel, where there are eight individual meeting rooms, a 24-hour business center and a dedicated meetings concierge, as well as a 1,734-square-foot pre-function foyer with an outdoor terrace for receptions of up to 150 attendees.

The meeting rooms themselves include the 4,187-square-foot Metropolis Ballroom, which features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay and can accommodate up to 300 attendees. It's divisible into two smaller rooms, as is the 1,562-square-foot Sanctum room and the 1,880-square-foot Gotham room. The 1,154-square-foot Parker room, meanwhile, features an outdoor terrace and can accommodate as may as 120 guests.

Additionally, the new hotel offers two 380-square-foot executive boardrooms—each featuring audio and videoconferencing capabilities—as well as a private wrap-around pool deck that includes 13,752 square feet of space that can be used for meeting breakouts, receptions and events.

EPIC is currently accepting reservations for bookings beginning in January 2009 and is offering meeting planners access to Kimpton's newly revamped "Pick-Your-Perks" meeting program, which allows them to receive a series of special discounts and unique meeting amenities.
