Effective Feb. 1, The Raphael Hotel in Kansas City, Mo., will join the Autograph Collection, Marriott International's collection of independent hotels and resorts, it announced last week.
Launched in January 2010, the Autograph Collection includes "upper-upscale and luxury properties with distinctive personalities." Along with The Raphael — which has 126 guest rooms and meeting space for groups of up to 40 — the collection now includes 14 properties nationwide.
“We are excited about The Raphael’s affiliation with the Autograph Collection,” said Steve Miller, director of operations for Lighthouse Properties, owner and operator of The Raphael. “We take pride in offering our guests the authentic and unique Kansas City experience. Through our partnership with the Autograph Collection, we can offer our guests even more –– including Marriott Rewards points for stays and an affiliation with other similar independent hotels throughout the world.”
Added Autograph Collection Vice President Kip Vreeland, "The landmark Raphael Hotel offers a truly unique experience in the heart of Kansas City. We are excited to welcome The Raphael to the Autograph Collection, delivering the power of our world-class sales engines while maintaining The Raphael’s unique identity in the center of America’s heartland.”
Originally an apartment building when it opened in 1927, The Raphael was reborn as a historic hotel in 1975. As part of the Autograph Collection, it will be featured on Marriott.com and affiliated with the Marriott Rewards program.
