The 229-room Hotel 50 Bowery will open in New York City's Chinatown this winter. The property is the first Joie de Vivre hotel to open in New York; it will be operated by Commune Hotels & Resorts, Joie de Vivre's parent company.
The boutique property will offer 1,900 square feet of meeting and event space, and a 5,000-square-foot outdoor space called the Atlantic Garden, which is named for the 1850s-era beer hall that once operated on the site. The neighborhood's Chinese roots also will be reflected in public areas, including a permanent exhibit from the Museum of Chinese in America. Dale Talde's Three Kings Restaurant Group will operate the hotel's three F&B establishments: the lobby-level Rice & Gold, a contemporary Asian restaurant; Goldie's, a cellar-level lounge serving dim sum, and a 21st-floor rooftop bar called [email protected]
