JW Marriott Indianapolis Plans February Opening

The new JW Marriott Indianapolis hotel will open on Feb. 4, 2011, as the final and signature component of the four-property, 1,626-room Marriott Place hotel complex in downtown Indianapolis, The Indianapolis Star reported last week.

The $450 million property, the world's largest JW Marriott hotel, will have 1,005 guest rooms and 104,000 square feet of meeting space inside 34 stories.

Connected via skybridge to the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center, the property opens directly onto White River State Park, a 220-acre cultural district featuring the Indianapolis Zoo, Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, and "The Lawn," an award-winning outdoor concert space.

According to the Star, approximately 380,000 room nights have been booked so far at the JW Marriott, which already is sold out for the 2012 Super Bowl at nearby Lucas Oil Stadium.
