Minnesota's first JW Marriott hotel, the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America, has opened in the Twin Cities, Marriott International announced last week.
Part of Mall of America's recent luxury expansion, the new hotel in Bloomington, MN, has 342 guest rooms; a signature restaurant with a private dining room for up to 14 guests; a lobby lounge specializing in local spirits; a fitness center; an indoor pool; nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom that accommodates more than 1,700 guests; and a special "Event Lounge" offering curated social experiences for guests, such as live culinary demonstrations.
"The Twin Cities region is particularly well-suited for our continued growth in the U.S.," said Mitzi Gaskins, vice president, Luxury Brand Management & Guest Experience, at Marriott International. "Minneapolis-St. Paul is one of the fastest growing areas in the Midwest and the expansion of Mall of America, designed to showcase luxury retail and hospitality concepts, is in alignment with JW Marriott's brand ethos."
Added Bloomington Mayor Gene Winstead, "Today is an exciting day for Bloomington and for this entire region as we welcome this new hotel. We're always happy to see the opportunity for new job and revenue creation for our city, and we congratulate the JW Marriott brand on opening what is obviously a spectacular new addition to our community."
