JW Marriott Completes $16M Renovation in Phoenix

The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, which claims to have the largest amount of meeting space in Arizona, has completed a $16 million renovation of its rooms, suites and corridors, it recently announced.

Located in Phoenix, the hotel — which has 950 guest rooms and 240,000 square feet of meeting space — has redesigned its rooms to reflect the surrounding Sonoran desert, giving them new "textured desert sand" carpeting and wall coverings; contemporary lighting treatments; refinished armoires, sofas, chairs and furnishings; floor-to-ceiling sheer drapes; and artwork depicting "warm desert landscapes" and "indigenous flora and fauna."

Guest beds, meanwhile, have been equipped with new leather-padded headboards and new bed linens; guest baths with new mirrors and rugs; and resort corridors with new carpet, tile, wall coverings, paint, furniture and fixtures.

"JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort is all about creating experiences that enrich the meeting and leisure guest's lives for enjoyment and personal growth," said Director of Sales and Marketing Tim Price. "In addition to the reinvention of our guest rooms, suites and corridors, we offer unique experiences such as our Chocolate Affair classes hosted by our National Champion pastry team, jazz festivals featuring national artists, and the new Family Escape Club providing fun and education for traveling teens and kids."

The resort also recently updated its indoor meeting space, which received a $3 million enhancement with new carpeting, wall coverings, paint, electronic locks and flat-screen television reader boards.
