Industry Launches New 'Value' Campaign, Targets Locals in Arizona

In honor of National Travel and Tourism Week earlier this month, the Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT), the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association (AzHLA) and other statewide industry partners launched a new summer campaign designed to promote travel to and within Arizona while highlighting for state residents the economic value of tourism.

The new campaign, Value Arizona, includes a new Web site, ValueAZ.com, featuring statewide summer travel deals, which AOT and AzHLA will promote with cinema advertising, online marketing and radio commercials.

"Our industry has had some tough challenges," AOT Director Sherry Henry said in a statement. "However, from challenges come great opportunities and Value Arizona has given us an opportunity to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, change the negative perceptions about travel and apply a pragmatic approach to an existing problem."

According to AOT and AzHLA, Value Arizona will seek to motivate residents to explore attractions within their home state, thereby generating tourism revenue for Arizona while experiencing firsthand its product.

"We developed this campaign to communicate multiple messages," said AzHLA President Debbie Johnson. "Value Arizona highlights the amazing values found throughout the state this summer, encourages residents to value the world-class destinations in their own backyard and stresses the value of the tourism industry to Arizona's economic vitality."

Value Arizona will run through Sept. 12. For more information, visit ValueAZ.com.
