When its current management contract expires on Oct. 31, 2012, the Hyatt Regency Dearborn — located near Ford's headquarters in suburban Dearborn, Mich. — will become the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Dearborn, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced last week.
"This signing marks the beginning of a very promising partnership for us with a hotel that is truly a landmark in the city of Dearborn," said Thorsten Kirschke, president, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. "The Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Dearborn is a great addition to our U.S. portfolio and the extensive conference facilities make this hotel a key destination in Dearborn and Michigan."
Centrally located between downtown Detroit and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, the hotel includes 772 guest rooms and 62,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as a day spa, an indoor pool, a whirlpool, a fitness center, an onsite restaurant, a coffee bar and a lobby bar.
In addition to a complete re-branding, Carlson Rezidor plans to commence a multimillion-dollar renovation of the property this fall.
"We are thrilled to be joining Radisson during this exciting turning point in the brand's history," said Chuck Taylor, owner's representative for Royal Realties LLC, the property's owner. "We are confident that with the investment and upgrades being made to our property it will make the hotel a favorite for anyone visiting Dearborn for years to come."
