Hyatt Regency Completes Guestroom Renovation in Lexington

The Hyatt Regency Lexington hotel in Lexington, Ky., has completed renovations on 366 guestrooms as part of a $16.4 million rejuvenation project started earlier this year.

The hotel's newly renovated guestrooms feature pillow-top mattresses, 32-inch flat panel HDTVs, iHome clock radios with iPod docking stations, ergonomic work chairs and high-speed Internet access. Updated bathrooms, meanwhile, feature new showers and natural stone vanities.

"We have received fantastic feedback from the business community and guests who are enjoying our new rooms," General Manager Larry Bell said in a statement. "We encourage visitors staying in the Bluegrass Region to experience the comfort and upscale amenities of our newly renovated hotel."

Upon purchasing the Hyatt Regency Lexington in December 2006, Rhode Island-based hotel owner The Procaccianti Group (TPG) announced a full renovation of the property, for which it's planned additional updates to the lobby, restaurant, bars and other public areas.

The hotel, which boasts 20,000 square feet of event space, is located in a mixed-use development known as Lexington Center—which itself completed a 24-month, $52-million renovation and expansion in 2004—that offers 66,000 square feet of exhibition space and 40,000 square feet of meeting space.
