Kemper Development Company, which owns the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, has pumped $185 million into the hotel's expansion. Sclater Partners Architects and Susan Marinello Interiors, both of Seattle, were responsible for project design.
The property, located nine miles from downtown Seattle, now features the new Olympic Tower, home to 351 guestrooms, including the Chairman Suite—a 1,500-square-foot space that integrates two separate sitting areas, a large dining room, a kitchen, and oversized Italian marble soaking tub.
The Hyatt Regency's expansion also includes the addition of a two-story Koa wood accent wall to the lobby space, as well as a curved Ambar stone grand staircase. The new tower features distinct artwork, such as Jessica Bodner's 10-foot-tall bronze Beehive Chandelier, the abstract 60-piece Primal Squares by Amber Brookman, and a massive oil canvas commissioned by Michael Schultheis.
The crown jewel of the Olympic Tower is the elegant Grand Ballroom, where gold, brown, and deep Chinese red hues define the space. Forty-eight custom drop-glass chandeliers hang from soaring 23-foot-tall ceilings. Additional function space includes the 13,755-square-foot Evergreen Ballroom, accented by oversized "elephant doors" in the foyer; an executive auditorium; and seven conference suites, offering 10-foot-ceilings in the bedroom and parlor.
