The Crowne Plaza Houston North-Greenspoint has completed work on a multimillion upgrade of its lobby, meeting space and guestrooms. Located just five miles from Bush Intercontinental Airport and a short drive from downtown Houston, the newly improved hotel hopes that providing the latest in design, decor, technology and comfort will help it attract more business travelers and meetings.
"Our goal was to update each of the guestrooms, as well as refresh the look throughout the hotel with a contemporary design that featured a little Texas flair," said Lisa Haude, principal of Paradigm Design Group, which spearheaded the hotel's redesign. "In addition, the meeting spaces were upgraded with the latest high-tech standards to appeal to companies from the Houston area and beyond looking for an attractive meeting venue."
Crowne Plaza North now sports 15,000 square feet of flexible, high-tech meeting and event space, not to mention a new VIP boardroom for 12, 24-hour business center facilities, wireless Internet access throughout the hotel and professional onsite audiovisual tech support.
"As a newly refurbished, full-service, conference-center-style hotel, priced competitively and located close to the headquarters of numerous national corporations, [Crowne Point North] represents a smart choice in today's economy," General Manager Tom Chigoy said in a statement. "The higher level of technology and service we offer at our upgraded facilities will allow us to help organizations maximize the productivity of their meetings."
Further catering to business travelers and meeting attendees, upgraded guestrooms at the 334-room property feature large, ergonomic desks with built-in charging stations for electronics, including cell phones and PDAs. Other additions include an upgraded fitness center, a newly refurbished onsite restaurant and a resort-style pool with adjacent special-event space.
