In one last-ditch effort to attract guests in 2009—and to kick start business in 2010—hotels nationwide are throwing hot New Year's Eve parties featuring hot celebrity guest hosts.
In Miami, the main attraction is Lady Gaga, who'll be giving a poolside performance at the historic Fontainebleau in South Beach, which has sold more than $1 million in tickets for the concert, according to USA Today.
Also in Miami, the W South Beach will feature 90210's AnnaLynne McCord and John Legend, while Gansevoort Miami Beach Hotel Rooftop will feature MTV reality star Brody Jenner.
While Times Square is the center of celebration in New York, Manhattan hotels also are hosting high-profile events. The Hotel on Rivington, for instance, will have Cobra Starship's Alex Suarez and Ryland Blackinton, as well as celebrity DJ Josh Madden.
On the West Coast, big-ticket studio parties will feature the likes of Adam Lambert and Pamela Anderson, although hotels will also have VIP guests, like old-school hip-hop star Grandmaster Flash, who'll be performing at the Roosevelt Hotel.
Perhaps the biggest New Year's bashes, however, will be taking place in Las Vegas. The Palazzo, for instance, will have Nicole Richie and Joel Madden; the Venetian Christina Aguilera; CityCenter Eva Longoria Parker; the Mirage Pete Wentz; Caesars Palace 50 Cent; the Hard Rock Hotel John Mayer Trio; and the Palms Maroon 5.
