A new Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel is planned for Hattiesburg, Miss., local newspaper the Hattiesburg American reported last week.
Among the first 50 markets to sign a franchise application for Hilton's new mid-tier extended-stay hotel concept, which Hilton has said will target "savvy and value-wise extended-stay guests," Hattiesburg will break ground on its new hotel sometime next year. Scheduled to open in early 2011, it will have four stories, 90 suites and 1,000 square feet of meeting space.
"We're excited to bring one of our first hotels to Hattiesburg," said Home2 Suites Global Head Bill Duncan, according to the American. "Since launching the Home2 brand in January, we've received an overwhelmingly positive response from the development community."
Added Kristen Brock, group sales coordinator for VisitHattiesburg, "We have noticed that our corporate and business travelers coming to Hattiesburg, and even leisure travelers, have begun to expect more from hotels as far as amenities. We're excited to get another high-end property with great new amenities that will please travelers."
