To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the Hilton Tucson East in Tucson, AZ, is planning an $8 million renovation, it announced last week.
Opened in 1987, the hotel has 232 guest rooms that will be completely redesigned with "warm interior colors, luxurious finishes, and modern amenities," according to owner Caliber - The Wealth Development Company, which acquired the property last year.
Also planned are upgrades to the hotel's lobby, modernization of its HVAC and water systems to make them more energy-efficient, the introduction of a new restaurant and bar concept, the addition of a new hotel pool, and refurbishment of the hotel's 12,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes a ballroom and six breakout rooms.
The ballroom will be completely renovated with new chandeliers, air walls, furnishings, wallpaper, and flooring, as well as a new, second entrance. The rest of the meeting space, meanwhile, will benefit from the installation of new high-speed Internet and the acquisition of new A/V equipment, including new monitors that will be installed outside meeting room entrances. Finally, two new boardrooms - one of which will be located off the lobby -- will be added to the meeting-space mix.
"We are thrilled to invest in the Hilton Tucson East to give it new vibrancy that will clearly elevate and provide an incredible guest experience for travelers and local citizens visiting the hotel," said Caliber CEO and Co-Founder Chris Loeffler. "This property is one of the finest in the Caliber hospitality portfolio and we are excited to complete renovations that will ultimately lead to becoming a highly sought after hotel destination in the Tucson business district."
The hotel remains open during renovations, which are scheduled to be complete by December 2017.
