Hilton's Tapestry Collection Heads South With Hotels in New Orleans, Savannah, Wilmington

The Troubadour in New Orleans, The Cotton Sail Hotel in Savannah, and Hotel Ballast in Wilmington have joined Hilton's Tapestry Collection

Its newest brand, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is less than a year old but already growing rapidly, according to Hilton Worldwide, which yesterday announced the addition to the Tapestry portfolio of three hotels in major Southern port cities: The Troubadour in New Orleans; The Cotton Sail Hotel in Savannah, GA; and Hotel Ballast in Wilmington, NC.

Located in the Crescent City's Central Business District, The Troubadour New Orleans opened its doors this week. The boutique property has 184 guest rooms, an onsite restaurant, a rooftop bar, and two meeting rooms totaling 1,556 square feet.

The Cotton Sail Hotel Savannah and Hotel Ballast Wilmington will both open in the first quarter of 2018. The former is located in Savannah's Historic District, inside a refurbished late-1800s cotton warehouse on the banks of the Savannah River; it has 56 guest rooms, one of Savannah's only rooftop bars, and a rooftop meeting room known as The North Star Room. The latter -- currently the Hilton Wilmington Riverside -- is situated in historic downtown Wilmington and originally opened as an inn in 1970; located on the city's waterfront, where it's currently undergoing an $8.5 million restoration, it has 272 guest rooms, two restaurants, and 20,000 square feet of meeting space, and plans to add a communal library area, an art gallery featuring work by students and alumni of the Savannah College of Art & Design, and a section dedicated to the history of the property and its significance to the city of Wilmington.

"These distinctive properties truly reflect the independent spirit of our collection for their character, vibrant locales, and history," said Mark Nogal, global head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. "From the rich culture of New Orleans, reflected by The Troubadour through its locally inspired offerings and location in the heart of the city, to coastal towns brimming with southern charm, these hotels undergird our efforts to build an authentic collection brand in markets that reach travelers seeking original, independent hotel options -- all backed by a brand they know and trust."

Hilton's 14th brand, Tapestry Collection by Hilton launched in January 2017 and consists of independent, unique hotels in the upscale category. The collection so far has four properties, including The Troubador. Other members include Tailwater Lodge in Altmar, NY; Hotel Skylar Syracuse in Syracuse, NY; and Virginia Crossings Hotel & Conference Center in Glen Allen, VA.
