A new Hilton Garden Hotel has opened in Shreveport, La., Hilton Hotels announced last week. The hotel, which has 142 rooms and 3,200 square feet of flexible meeting space, is located near several corporations that are expected to make use of the new accommodations, including General Motors, General Electric, Haliburton, Calumet Industries and Grey Wolf Drilling.
"With the many offerings and amenities to keep travelers productive on the road, the Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport is ideal for business travelers," said Shailesh C. Vora, M.D., a spokesperson for Akshar 6, which operates the new hotel.
Specifically, the Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport includes three meeting rooms—the 924-square-foot Azalea room, the 1,012-square-foot Orchid room and the 1,276-square-foot Rose room—and a 280-square-foot boardroom. In addition, it offers complimentary wired and wireless Internet access and remote printing to a 24-hour business center, not to mention an onsite restaurant, a workout facility and an outdoor swimming pool.
Guestrooms, meanwhile, feature high-definition flat screen televisions, MP3-compatible clock radios and speakerphones.
"Opening our newest hotel in Shreveport shows how travelers are looking for a different kind of lodging option that offers all the amenities they need and want, whether on the road for business or leisure," Adrian Kurre, Hilton Garden Inn's senior vice president of brand management, said in a statement.
