Great Wolf Resorts has opened a new property 30 minutes outside of Charlotte in Concord, N.C., it announced this month. Called Great Wolf Lodge, it features more than 400 guest suites, an 80,000-square-foot indoor waterpark and a 20,000-square-foot conference center.
"Families from coast to coast have created lifelong traditions at our resorts, and now we're happy to have a location to extend that same hospitality to families in the southeast," General Manager Phil Cunningham said in a statement.
Although they're known for their family fun, Great Wolf Resorts are also popular meetings destinations. The new Great Wolf Lodge is no exception, as its 20,000-square-foot conference center includes over 8,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, including five separate meeting rooms for events of between 10 and 600.
Great Wolf Lodge is also green thanks to Great Wolf Resorts' recently launched Project Green Wolf, which Great Wolf has used to set environmental goals for each of its 12 resorts—all of which have already received Green Seal certification for their lodging operations, making Great Wolf Resorts the first and only Green Seal-certified national hotel chain.
