Golden Entertainment Acquires Two Laughlin Casinos

Colorado-Belle-resort

Golden Entertainment is putting money down on the trifecta in Laughlin, Nev. The gaming and entertainment company is adding to its local portfolio, complementing its 1,906-room Aquarius Casino Resort with the acquisition of the neighboring 1,164-room Colorado Belle and 1,053-room Edgewater Hotel & Casino resorts from Marnell Gaming. Golden paid $155 million in cash and approximately 911,000 shares of Golden Entertainment common stock for the pair. The acquisition has been finalized.

With the purchase, Golden now owns 10 casino resorts, nine of which are in Southern Nevada. In addition to the Laughlin trio, the portfolio includes the Las Vegas properties the Stratosphere, Arizona Charlie's Decatur and Arizona Charlie's Boulder; and, in Pahrump, Nev., the Pahrump Nugget, the Gold Town Casino, and the Lakeside Casino and RV Park. Golden also owns the Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Flintstone, Md.

"The acquisition of these properties complements our market-leading Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin and grows our portfolio of wholly owned Southern Nevada casino resorts," said Golden chairman and CEO Blake L. Sartini. "Golden is excited to integrate the Colorado Belle and the Edgewater, and we welcome their guests and team members to the Golden family."

Golden Entertainment also owns 60 neighborhood pubs and taverns throughout Nevada, and operates video gaming devices at nearly 1,000 locations in Montana and Nevada.
