The Godfrey Hotel Boston has opened in the restored Amory and Blake buildings. The property is in the city's Theatre District, within walking distance of Boston Common.

The hotel's sleek lobby offers a lounge, the Cicchetti at Godfrey restaurant, a spacious fitness center and an executive meeting room. Extras debuting this spring and summer are a street-level coffee shop by George Howell Coffee and a full-service restaurant.

"We are proud to call Boston home to our expanding Godfrey Hotel brand," said John Rutledge, president and CEO of Oxford Capital Group, which developed the project. "With such a robust room demand in Boston, the Godfrey Hotel Boston is an instrumental development in the Downtown Crossing neighborhood and the city beyond."

The hotel's exterior features the restored masonry of the six-story Amory Building and the white terra cotta of the 11-story Blake building, both built about 100 years ago. The interior is more modern, as the designers aimed to offer a calming oasis in the city.

"The Gettys Group's intent with the redesign of the hotel was to honor the existing fabric of the architecture, and infuse it with new life by juxtaposing the modern interiors with the historic facade," said Ben Nicholas, senior design director at the Gettys Group.

The hotel's guest rooms are wired with InnSpire's "Guest Media Streaming" technology, which allows guests to use personal mobile devices to stream photos, videos and music to the 55-inch HD TVs.
