Gansevoort Opens Second New York City Hotel

New York's second Gansevoort hotel, the Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC, has officially opened in Manhattan's Flat Iron district, Gansevoort Hotel Group (GHG) announced last month.

The hotel, which soft-opened in August 2010, has 249 guest rooms and a 3,000-square-foot ballroom, as well as a rooftop lounge that can accommodate events for 10 to 500 guests.

"We are thrilled to unveil Gansevoort Park Avenue as the city's most comprehensive urban resort," said GHG President Michael Achenbaum. "Through groundbreaking partnerships with leading brands in the restaurant, beauty and fashion industries, the hotel provides a one-of-a-kind experience for hotel guests and an exciting new addition to Manhattan's culinary and nightlife scene."

Along with guest rooms and meeting space, Gansevoort Park Avenue NYC includes an onsite spa, a Lacoste boutique, an in-house salon, an onsite restaurant and a 20,000-square-foot tri-level entertainment complex that includes a lounge, an indoor/outdoor pool deck and several bars.

"Gansevoort Park Avenue was conceived throughout as a self-contained world," Achenbaum said. "You can swim, shop, work out, enjoy a complete spa experience, and see and be seen at one of several city hot spots — all without ever leaving the resort. Of course, if you do, you’re right in the middle of Manhattan, and you've got a wonderfully stylish and relaxing home to return to."

GHG's first New York hotel, the flagship Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC, opened in 2004 in Manhattan's Meatpacking district. For more information on both hotels, visit
