The 2007 opening of the Branson Convention Center and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel commenced a period of tremendous growth for meetings and conventions in Branson, Mo. — the self-proclaimed "Live Music Show Capital of the World." The icing on the cake, however, was the 2009 opening of the Branson Airport, which is now more accessible to Midwest meeting attendees thanks to Frontier Airlines, which this month launched new nonstop service between Milwaukee and Branson.
"Frontier's nonstop service to Branson is exciting, as it provides the opportunity for many new visitors to get to Branson with the added convenience of low fares," said Branson Airport Executive Director Jeff Bourk.
Starting July 1, Frontier began operating Monday, Wednesday and Friday service to Branson, with flights departing Milwaukee at 11 a.m. and arriving in Branson at 12:30 p.m. Introductory fares started at $98 each way.
Last month, Frontier also announced plans to add nonstop seasonal service between Branson and Austin, as well as Phoenix. Branson-Austin service will operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Sept. 16 through Dec. 14, 2011, while Branson-Phoenix service will operate Saturdays from Sept. 17 through Dec. 10, 2011.
