A rendering of the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, the brand's first property in Korea
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, working in partnership with Korea-based Mirae Asset Global Investments, will open its first property in Korea in May 2015 when the brand-new Four Seasons Hotel Seoul opens in the capital city’s central business district. The 25-story building will be located in the Sejongro Square and will have 317 guest rooms, along with restaurants, meeting rooms, and a fitness center. The hotel is being designed with international business travelers in mind.
For the Four Seasons, the new hotel marks an important landmark in the brand’s global expansion into a key business travel market. "Despite its rapidly developing economy, supply of luxury hotels in Korea has been limited,” says Chris Hart, Four Seasons president of hotel operation for Asia-Pacific. “Recognizing the vast potential in this market, we have been exploring growth opportunities here for many years. We are confident that Four Seasons Hotel Seoul will change the face of luxury hospitality in Korea. It represents the perfect combination of the right location and the right partner — prominent global investment group Mirae Asset Global Investments, a like-minded partner that shares our values and vision for success."
"As the first top-tier luxury branded hotel in Korea, the superior product and services of Four Seasons will elevate the hospitality market in Korea and attract a new segment of global luxury travellers," adds Sang-Kee Jeong, vice chairman of Mirae Asset Global Investments. "We anticipate that the introduction of Four Seasons will be a catalyst for the Korean luxury market.
