Former Baltimore CVA Head Dies

Carroll Robbins Armstrong, former president of the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (BACVA)—now Visit Baltimore—died on Dec. 20 of pneumonia related to cardiac arrest, The Baltimore Sun reported this week.

Armstrong, 65, was a Baltimore native who took over as BACVA president and CEO in 1996, a post he held until 2003.

Armstrong also was co-founder of the Association of Convention Marketing Executives, of which he was the first national president.
