Following $187M Renovation, Sheraton Waikiki Reopens

After five years and $187 million, the 31-story Sheraton Waikiki has reopened in Hawaii, it announced last month.

The hotel, which has 1,636 guest rooms and 45,000 square feet of meeting space, officially re-launched on Jan. 15, when it debuted the top-to-bottom renovation of its guest rooms, lobby and meeting rooms, as well as its new additions: two swimming pools—including the largest beachfront infinity pool in North America—a spa, and several restaurants and bars.

"I think the focus on this hotel was really to provide Waikiki someplace that can really drive some excitement," General Manager Kelly Sanders said, according to Travel Weekly. "We were trying for something similar to the neighbor-island experience that you have with the great resort pools and spas, and that's something we really didn't have on Waikiki Beach."
