A new Doubletree hotel has opened in Rocky Mount, N.C. Formerly a Holiday Inn, the hotel is now officially part of the Doubletree family following 10 months and $7 million worth of renovations to its guestrooms and public spaces.
"We are proud that the Doubletree Hotel Rocky Mount represents the 10th North Carolina hotel in our brand portfolio," Dave Horton, Doubletree's senior vice president of brand management, said in a statement. "This strategic Doubletree location, which is located halfway between New York and Florida on the heavily traveled Interstate 95 corridor, is located in a thriving community of corporations, colleges, golf courses, museums and other points of interest for both business and pleasure."
The new Doubletree Hotel Rocky Mount features 166 guestrooms and suites, all of which have been completely refurbished, as well as complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access, a new on-site restaurant, a renovated fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool.
During the course of renovations, the hotel—which is adjacent to the Gateway Convention Center—also added 300 square feet of on-site meeting space. Combined with the convention center, the updated hotel therefore offers planners access to more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 500 attendees.
