Trump's DC Hotel to Open Two Years Early in Fall 2016

Today, New Hampshire voters will have a chance to vote for Donald Trump in the presidential primaries. This fall, travelers will have the chance to vote for him with their wallets and itineraries by visiting Trump Hotels' Trump International Hotel, Washington, DC, which will open in September -- two years ahead of schedule.

Located in the historic Old Post Office Pavilion in Washington, DC, which dates back to 1899, the hotel will have 263 guest rooms, 35 suites, a 10,000-square-foot spa and fitness facility, DC's first BLT Prime restaurant, and 38,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including the District's largest ballroom: the 13,200-square-foot column-free Presidential Ballroom.

"For decades people have looked in wonderment at the magnificence of the Old Post Office building and structure. There is nothing like it and we are so proud to have not only brought this incredible building back to life, but also to a position far greater than it ever was at its previous zenith," Trump said in a statement.

Trump was selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to redevelop the Old Post Office Pavilion in 2013. He has signed a 60-year lease on the building with the federal government.

"It has been an incredible journey transforming the Old Post Office into what will be the finest luxury hotel in the country -- if not the world.  We have worked tirelessly to meticulously restore one of the United States' most high-profile landmarks and are incredibly proud to unveil the results of our efforts this September," said Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, executive vice president of development for The Trump Organization. "Under our agreement with the U.S. government's General Services Administration, the hotel was scheduled to be completed by August of 2018, but through our team's hard work and close collaboration with the GSA, we will now be opening almost two years ahead of schedule, which is unheard of for a project of this size and complexity."

Trump International Hotel, Washington, DC, will be Trump's 10th hotel. Two others, Trump Hotel Rio de Janeiro and Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver, also are expected to open this year.
