Dolce Hotels & Resorts, which specializes in managing meetings properties, has been named manager of The Thayer Hotel at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., it announced last week.Named for U.S. Army Col. Sylvanus Thayer, The Thayer Hotel was built in 1926 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, having undergone a $26 million restoration in 1999 and additional renovations in 2003 and 2004.Dolce's sixth property to be affiliated with an education institution, The Thayer has 149 guest rooms, a fitness room, a full-service restaurant and 15,000 square feet of meeting space comprising 10 meeting rooms for groups of up to 300."We are honored to partner with The Thayer Hotel, which becomes the 25th property in our growing collection of upscale hotels, resorts and conference hotels in North America and Europe," Dolce President and CEO Steven A.
