MGM Resorts International and Morgans Hotel Group will open their joint-venture hotel, Delano Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, on Sept. 1, they announced this week.
First announced in 2012, Delano Las Vegas will be the second Delano in the United States, serving as a sibling to the brand's signature South Beach property. It replaces THEhotel, an all-suite resort that opened adjacent to Mandalay Bay in 2003. Fresh from a renovation and redesign, it will have 1,100 guest rooms, a spa, a private pool opening in 2015, a signature restaurant on the 64th floor and a new lobby with three distinct social spaces: a coffee bar, a lounge and a café.
“Delano guests will be wowed by the introduction of this very special destination,” General Manager Matthew Chilton said in a statement. “Dynamic public spaces will serve as social hubs where guests will want to linger and socialize while the clean design of the suites will create a quiet escape.”
